From the Principal

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

I would like to reflect on what has been a very busy Term 3 and also update you on some important information as we look forward to a successful Term 4.

Term 3 Reports

Term 3 reports are available to view on our Parental Access Module (PAM). I would encourage all parents to have a conversation with their son/daughter regarding their reports and their learning goals for the term.

Enrolments for 2024

I am pleased to share some exciting news about the continued growth and success of St Augustine's College. We are very happy to report that our enrolment numbers continue to grow. This increase in enrolment is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our outstanding staff, and of course, our wonderful community of parents and caregivers.

One noteworthy development is a waiting list for Year 7 in 2024. This speaks volumes about the high regard in which St Augustine’s is held in Kyabram and surrounding areas. Many of our other year groups are approaching capacity, reflecting the trust and confidence you have placed in us.

We extend our deepest gratitude for your ongoing commitment to St Augustine's College. Your support is invaluable and it is the foundation upon which our school's success is built. Together, we are shaping bright futures for our students, and for that, we are sincerely thankful.

If you are aware of any parents who are considering enrolment for their child at St Augustine's, I encourage you to direct them to our Enrolments Officer, Nicole Elliott. With our current growth, we anticipate that our available placements may be filled soon, so it is important to act promptly.

New Year 3-4 Learning Space

I am excited to announce that the new St Augustine’s Years 3 and 4 Learning Space is near completion. Designed to inspire curiosity, critical thinking and a love of learning, this innovative space will provide our students with the tools they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. The Years 3 and 4 Learning Space is a bright, spacious and flexible environment that is designed to accommodate a wide range of learning activities. With a dynamic and engaging environment like this, we know that our students will be inspired to reach their full potential. Our Years 3 and 4 students will transition into this new learning space at the beginning of Term 4.

New Identity / Mission Statements and Graduate Outcomes

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your invaluable feedback on our new Vision and Mission Statements, as well as the Graduate Outcomes. Your insights have played a pivotal role in shaping the direction of St Augustine’s College. Through your contributions during the National School Improvement Review, we were able to gain a deeper understanding of the aspirations and expectations of our cherished community.

I am pleased to inform you that we have considered your feedback and the revised Vision and Mission Statements, along with the refined Graduate Outcomes, will be shared early in Term 4. Your engagement in this process has not only reinforced our commitment to excellence but has also demonstrated the strength and kindliness of our community. Once again, thank you for your unwavering support and commitment to the growth and development of St Augustine’s College.

College Production

I also wish to thank parents and caregivers who attended the College production of Aladdin Jr. The talent and dedication displayed by our students, both on and off the stage, were nothing short of extraordinary. Their hard work, countless rehearsals and unwavering commitment to excellence shone through in every scene. This production was a testament to the remarkable teamwork and collaboration among our students, staff and parent volunteers. Thank you for being an integral part of this memorable journey.

Playgroup

The Playgroup will continue in Term 4, beginning Wednesday 4th October and I would like to extend a warm invitation to you and your three to five year old son/daughter to join our free St Augustine’s Playgroup. You are most welcome to share this information with other parents who may also be interested in joining our playgroup. With Holly Swetman recently accepting an Early Childhood teaching position in Tongala, I am delighted to announce that Allana Adams will be leading the playgroup sessions.

College Driveway Safety

I would like to remind parents and caregivers of the importance of our driveway safety measures. Our number one priority is to ensure the safety of all students, and with your cooperation, we can make the drop-off/pickup zone a safe environment. Please follow these guidelines when dropping off your child in the College driveway:

  • Avoid driving on the footpath.
  • Observe the speed limit.
  • Remain in your vehicle when dropping off your child. If you need to assist your child, please find an alternative parking area other than the driveway.
  • Follow the instructions of school staff who are directing traffic in the driveway area.
  • Students are to exit the car at the end of the driveway, near the Brigidine Centre.

By following these guidelines, we can ensure a safe and efficient drop-off experience for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation,
