Stand Up Project
Stand Up Project:
A short word from the awesome School Captains - Indigo & Nina
The year six Sup Team (Stand Up Project) have been presenting to the younger year levels about how to recognise and react to bullying in school situations. They use slideshow presentations and work in groups of 3 to spread awareness about this rising problem in the world. Head to the Standup Program website to learn more about facts and resources to help your child fight bullying.
We’re excited to include your children in following sessions and projects about bullying, and encourage you to chat or talk with your kids if they have any questions or concerns about the topic.
Soon, members of this program will start - some have already - their second round of teaching sessions with the younger years. We’ll not only re-cap your kids on how to spot bullying and not be one, but this time these lessons will educate them on how to react, we’re sure they’ll tell you all about it when their class has their session in the following weeks. Just a little recap for you, bullying can be in many shapes or forms, including online, in a group, physically, verbally and psychologically, and is a massive problem all over the world. This term we will be going into depth about specific situations on how or if you should intervene, including directly, distracting, delegating and delaying (4 d’s).
