Dear Parents/Guardians,

 

Remembrance Day

On Monday, we celebrated Remembrance Day, which was a day for us to remember those who have served and those who have died in all wars and peacekeeping operations. Thank- you to our grade 6 students, who represented us at the ceremony in town and to Corey for volunteering to do a reading. Back at school we observed one minute of silence at 11:00 and then at our assembly, Captain Cam Lovering, who is president of the Rochester RSL, addressed the entire school and read the Ode

 

School Savings bonus - quick facts

1.  A one-off $400 support for government school students from Prep to Year 12 in 2025.

2. Parents will receive an email from the Department of Education from Tuesday 26 November 2024.

3. The email will contain a Bonus code

4. Bonus helps cover cost of uniforms, excursions, activities and more.

5. Use the Bonus code in store at Sportspower. 

6. Parents and carers can allocate part or all the $400 bonus for school activities via the online system.  

If you have not received your School Saving Bonus code via email by Friday 29 November, please contact the Department of Education by emailing school.saving.bonus@education.vic.gov.au

 

T20 Cricket

We extend our best wishes to our T20 cricketers who travel to Swan Hill tomorrow to compete in the regional event. We look forward to hearing all about it when they return to school.

 

Prep Transition 

We are excited to welcome our 2025 Prep students for their upcoming classroom transition days over the next two weeks. These sessions will give our future Preps further opportunities to familiarise themselves with their new learning environment, meet some of our staff, and connect with future peers. We look forward to supporting them as they begin their journey at our school.

 

Whole School Transition Day

The State-wide Transition Day falls on Tuesday 10th December this year. On this day our students from Grades 1 to 6 will step up to their new grade for the day and meet their new teacher for next year. Our 2025 Preps will also be joining us on this day for a half day. Please mark this day in your calendar.

 

Term 4

We know that Term 4 is one of the busiest times of the school year but it is hard to believe we are just over halfway. We’ve had a wonderful start with plenty of celebrations and successes already, and there’s still so much more to look forward to so please keep an eye out on XUNO for all of  the up-to-date information and dates for the following events:

  • P/1 Pevan & Sarah excursion
  • Year 3/4 Camp 
  • Grade 2 sleep over
  • Statewide Orientation Day
  • Year 6 End of Year Events
  • Final Assembly (Awards)
  • Family Christmas Night.

Monster Raffle: Please collect from office.

Raffle tickets are available for our 'Rochester Primary School Monster Raffle'. Check out the great prizes up for grabs! Families are asked to collect a book to sell. These are available for pick up from the office.  All funds raised will go towards supporting students, programs and activities at our school. This will be drawn at our final assembly on Monday 16th December.
