Twilight Fete - the sound of music
From Penny Hewson, parent, school councillor & rock singer
Student Performances
Oh what a joy it was to see all those kids up on stage performing at the Fete. As a musician and an organiser I know firsthand the extra efforts that it took to create this opportunity for them, and my heartfelt thanks to the Performing Arts teachers and involved parents for their support.
The benefits of having our kids exposed to and engaging with music and performing arts at the school are invaluable, as well as the inspiration it offers to the younger kids now imagining a pathway to their own performances in the future.
Thank you for the extra yards you guys went to in order to make this happen.
Teachers & Parents Band
The Teacher band put on a superb performance, wowing the crowd with their musical talents and with their stellar song selection, setting the perfect vibe for the fete-goers under the trees as the dusk began to settle in.
Since the 2022 fete we've also seen our parent bands grow in number from 1 to 3! Rock'N'Roll Call always bring the good energy with their indie rock covers.
Hoodoo Mayhem added spontaneity, colour and flair as they roved around the grounds entertaining the crowd, capping things off with a fantastic set on stage.
Closing out the evening we saw the debut performance of Heavy Dads who really got the kids up and about, grabbing attention with their own unique interpretation of Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" turned up to 11.
Thanks to Duncan Millar for organising and running the stage production this year and to School of Loving Music for their continued support.
