Reflection
Rememrance Day
Monday is Remembrance Day. It marks the end of World War 1 in 1918 and is a special day for remembering those who have died at war.
Sir Edward Dunlop was a surgeon in the Australian Army. He cared tirelessly for soldiers who had been taken prisoner in the Second World War and forced to work even when they were very sick and weak. He saved many lives and is sometimes remembered as 'The Surgeon of the Railway'. He died in 1993.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace
Amen.
May their souls
and the souls of the fiathfully departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen
