In the Mandarin class, Foundation students are learning about colours. They had a colour hunt walking around the school grounds and created a picture of spring colours using the things they found. They then labelled the colours with Chinese words in Pinyin.
This term in Science, the Year 1 and 2 students are learning about changes that happen to different materials in our everyday life when they are heated and cooled. They have also investigated and described the changes that happen with different foods when they are cooked. Students enjoyed looking at the differences between cooked and uncooked spaghetti and they described the way that the spaghetti had changed. They then created these spaghetti towers as a STEM challenge to see which group could create the tallest tower.
This term, Year 4 students choreographed dances in small groups, using a hat as a prop.
Year 5/6 students have been enjoying their clay unit. They have made and painted pinch- pot creatures and slab houses. they have learnt many techniques throughout the projects including joining, decorating, modelling and slab construction.
Year 5/6 students have participated in pickleball, badminton, volleyball and spikeball as part of our Net/Wall games unit. Pickleball and spikeball (also known as roundnet) are two of the fastest growing sports in the world. Year 5/6 students have developed sport specific skills and learnt basic strategies and tactics as well as the rules for match play.
