Novice Concert Band takes to the stage

Novice Concert Band participated in their first competition this week, at the Hawthorn Arts Centre. The Victorian Schools Music Festival is an opportunity for school age musicians to perform in front of adjudicators, listen to other groups perform and participate in a workshop with a specialist in the field. The Novice Concert Band performed to an extremely high standard, and this was reflected in their adjudication. With overall marks of “excellent” by both adjudicators. Their comments included “congratulations on a fabulous performance today” and that group was on track to “develop into a fine band”. An outstanding achievement for a group of musicians who began learning their instruments in February.
