Personal and Social Capability

CURRICULUM FOCUS

This week in the Resilience Project, the Grade 2 students will create an emotional thermometer to help them explain and rate how they feel in different emotional scenarios.

VOCABULARY

The way rate feelings:

1: Not strong at all (like the neutral face)

2: A little strong (slightly sad face)

3: Medium strength (neutral face)

4: Quite strong (happy or angry face)

5: Very strong (big smile or angry face)

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

With your child, create a feelings wheel with different emotions. Have your child spin the wheel and talk about a time they felt that emotion. After sharing, students can rate the intensity of that feeling from 1 to 5.
