This week in Writing, the Grade 2s are editing and revising their drafts of their narratives.

VOCABULARY

Revising is when you look at your writing again to make changes and improve it.

Editing is when you correct mistakes in your writing, like fixing spelling or grammar.

Draft is an early version of a piece of writing that you will improve later.

Narratives are stories that describe a series of events, often with characters, a setting, and a plot.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Ask your child to look at the narrative from last week. What can you do to improve it?

Check the following things: 

• Can I add more interesting words?
• Ensure you have capital letters and punctuation. 
• Check your spelling, if you think a word is wrong underline it with a coloured pencil!
