Principal's Message

Dear Families,

We have a bumper newsletter for you this week, with lots of pages for you to read. It's great to see so many contributions from different areas of our school, so please take the time to read each page carefully.

On Tuesday evening the Year 3 students and their families from COHR and Sacred Heart who are celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation, joined us for our family faith night. On the night we explored the parable of The Prodigal Son and its connection to Reconciliation.

But while he was still far off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion; he ran and put his arms around him and kissed him. Then the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’  But the father said to his slaves, ‘Quickly, bring out a robe “the best one” and put it on him; put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. And get the fatted calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate; for this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found!’ And they began to celebrate.

Questions

What can we learn about God?

Who could we be in the story?

How does the story teach us about forgiveness?

How does the Parable story help us understand the Sacrament of Reconciliation?

Car Park Safety

To help keep all students safe during busy drop‑off and pick‑up times, we kindly ask families to follow our car park procedures carefully.

Please do not drop children off near the stairs at the front office. This area becomes congested very quickly and is not a designated drop‑off zone. Stopping here creates significant safety risks for students and other pedestrians.

To ensure a smooth and safe arrival for everyone:

  • Use the drop‑off zone at the gate only.
  • Keep the traffic flow moving, please do not stop or park in undesignated areas.
  • Be patient and alert for students crossing.
  • Hold your child’s hand when walking through the car park.

We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our school community safe. A few extra minutes of care can make a big difference.

Child Safety

As part of the MACS initiative of 11 Months 11 Standards, we have started working through the Child Safe Standards with our Year 5/6 students. They will learn about a new standard each month and unpack how it connects to their lives. You can see the display continue to grow throughout the year in the 5/6 learning space.

The first standard is: ‘’Establish culturally safe environments in which the diverse and unique identities and experiences of Aboriginal children, young people and students are respected and value’’

5/6 Open Classrooms

On Wednesday we had invited our 5/6 families in for Open Classrooms. It was great to have so many parents attend to see the great work the 5/6's are doing in Mathematics.
