Sport
PE
After moving on from our Olympics theme which took all our attention during the first few weeks of term, basketball became our focus heading into the Surf Coast Association carnival.
With skill development, drills plus game awareness and understanding used to engage and challenge students of all skill levels.
To round out the term we move into Jump Rope For Heart across the school.
Green and Gold Day
As part of the Olympic theme, Moriac turned the school Green and Gold on Friday August 2nd. Our senior students led the day organising some events and sports that brought the students together. With a focus promoting participation and fun, it was so good to see all our students enjoying such a brilliant day. A huge congratulations to all students who made the day such a success.
Senior Basketball
On Friday August 16th, our Year 5/6 students headed off to our SSA Carnival. With 5 teams competing across the boys, girls and mixed teams, Moriac was very well represented. To wrap up what was a fantastic day, Moriac's Girls Division team were crowned winners and will now head to the next stage in the region. Similar to netball and football, where we had specialised coaches from our school community join us, we were fortunate to have former Moriac PS students and current representative basketballers Mason Chealuck and Pat Dunbabin and their parents David Chealuck and Kelly Dunbabin join together to support our A Boys and A Girls Teams.
