Prep

We are mid-way through the term and oh how it has flown by! The students have been working so hard this term and putting all their skills into good use. The students should continue to be proud of themselves!

Reading

The last few weeks in Reading, we have been learning about developing our fluency when we read. Students have been working on grouping together words, so that when they read them they do not sound like robots, with the aim that this will develop confidence and comprehension of a text. Students have also been working on retelling a story. When doing this, they must include characters, setting, beginning, middle and end.

Writing

In the last few weeks in Writing, we have been learning to include extra detail in our writing. We have been focusing on our senses and thinking about what we can see, taste, touch, smell and hear. Students have also made sure to include a beginning, middle and end in their stories. Check out some of our writing below.

Maths

In the last few weeks in maths, we have been learning about subtraction. The students have been starting with the bigger number and taking some away to find the answer (what is left over). Check out some of our maths work below.

The last couple of weeks have been very busy. We have been celebrating different things this term including the Olympics and Book Week. Look at some of our Book Week things below.

Book Week

We decorated the front doors of our classroom with our chosen books, "The Concrete Garden" and "Can You Teach A Fish To Climb A Tree?".

Our buddies came in and read us one of their favourite stories and we worked together to make our own bookmarks.

Olympics

What an incredible event to celebrate around the world! The students dressed in 'Green and Gold' to celebrate our Olympians and have a little fun along the way! Our students got to participate in a range of activities and we are happy to report that there were a large number of smiling faces!
