Wellbeing at Moriac
This term at Moriac Primary School, our focus on student wellbeing has continued to grow, with a range of activities and programs designed to support the social and emotional development of our students.
One of the highlights has been the Wellbeing Hub, a welcoming space open during lunchtimes where students can engage in more passive and creative activities as an alternative to outdoor play.
This term, we introduced weekly themes in the Hub to provide variety and excitement for our students. These themes have included activities such as Lego building, craft projects, drawing, and loom band creations. The Wellbeing Hub has quickly become a favourite spot for students who enjoy expressing their creativity, working on projects at their own pace, and socializing in a relaxed environment.
We’ve seen great participation and enthusiasm from students across all year levels, and it’s wonderful to see the positive impact these activities are having on their overall wellbeing. As we continue to grow and adapt our wellbeing initiatives, we look forward to introducing even more engaging themes and activities.
Respectful Relationship - Wellbeing Curriculum
The Respectful Relationships (RRRR) program is an initiative designed to promote and support the social, emotional, and positive relationship skills of students. It is part of a broader effort to build a culture of respect and equality in schools and the wider community. Through this program, delivered through classroom explicit teaching, students learn about important topics such as emotional literacy, personal strengths, problem-solving, stress management, and the importance of healthy relationships.
