Celebrating Public Education Week

Open Classroom Showcase

We hope you had a wonderful time at our recent Open Classroom Showcase. It was an absolute delight to see so many families join us for this special celebration of student learning.

The showcase is always a fantastic opportunity to witness the incredible work our students have been doing throughout the year. From creative letters to the Onceler and an under water glow room, the range of Rich Task projects on display was truly inspiring. We were so impressed by the enthusiasm, creativity, and hard work of our students.

A big thank you to all the families who attended. Your support and encouragement mean the world to our students and staff. We were particularly excited to celebrate Public Education Week and the theme "Proud to Belong." It was a wonderful reminder of the importance of public education and the positive impact it has on our community.

As we look ahead to next year, we are already planning to make the Open Classroom Showcase even bigger and better. We can't wait to see what our students will achieve in the coming year.

Thank you again for your continued support.

Professional Learning Highlights

Enhancing Outcomes for Aboriginal Students

Our APCI recently participated in a professional learning course  "Improving Educational Outcomes for Aboriginal Students." This valuable training focused on equipping educators with strategies to support the academic success of Aboriginal learners. Through this course, leaders in the Illawarra explored how to tailor approaches to meet the unique needs of Aboriginal students and create inclusive learning environments. Additionally, the course delved into the integration of Aboriginal pedagogies into our teaching programs. By incorporating these culturally relevant perspectives, we aim to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal cultures among all students at Tarrawanna PS.

We are excited to see the positive impact of this professional learning on our students' experiences and achievements. Our APCI will strengthen staff practice and set targeted goals and support teachers to analyse data related to student performance.

By investing in our staff's development, we are committed to providing high-quality education that empowers and inspires all learners. Together we will identify areas for improvement and tailor our instruction to address the specific needs of Aboriginal students.
