Partnerships and Pathways

The Multiplex Jump Start Program is in full swing this term! Our Year 9 and Year 10 students are thriving, thanks to this innovative industry partnership that champions the high demand for women in construction and trades careers. From visiting the Western Sydney Airport to gaining insights at Euroline’s onsite joinery workshop, our students in the program have the passion and determination to make their mark in the industry. Here's to building a future where women in trades are the norm!

Our Lunch and Learn series continues to provide students with valuable opportunities to hear from industry experts about various career paths. Recently, Dr. Tiana Castillo captivated a large group of aspiring doctors and medical practitioners, sharing her journey from high school to university and discussing her experiences in pathology, orthopaedics and neuroscience. Dr. Castillo offered insightful tips and advice on the dedication and commitment needed to pursue a career in medicine. Her session was highly engaging, with students actively participating by asking prepared questions. Chad Smith from 1300apprentice, shared his expertise with students interested in trades. Chad discussed various apprenticeships and traineeships in fields such as telecommunications, carpentry, business, IT and warehousing. He emphasised how these pathways provide the opportunity to earn an income while learning, and gain nationally recognized qualifications, ultimately opening doors to numerous career opportunities.

We recently celebrated the start of an exciting four-year journey for a group of Year 9 students joining the Western Sydney University Fast Forward program. This valuable initiative, in partnership with our College, provides incredible opportunities. The 17 students received a gift and certificate from WSU, attending a special event to welcome them and learn about Fast Forward’s many benefits . Throughout the program, students will engage in activities and events to help them excel in their final high school years, experience the university environment, and explore future pathways. They will be heading for their first campus visit in Week 5. Congratulations to these Year 9 students ~ we can't wait to see all you will achieve!
