I would like to thank all the parents who participated in our largest community event for the school year, our College Walkathon. There was certainly a buzz of excitement around the St. Marcellin Centre as the boys arrived and the crowd grew and grew. A large number of parents chose to walk the distance with their sons whilst others chose to assist with various duties throughout the morning. Whether walking or assisting, the sense of community and involvement was wonderful to see. Thanks to the boys who took the time to dress up to add to the fun of the day. As I mentioned last week in this newsletter, the walkathon is the one day of the year, we ask our boys to get involved with the whole MCA community and it was great to see so many of our boys turn up to the event. A reminder to those who didn’t get there on Sunday that there is a make-up Walkathon being held this afternoon.
We are certainly excited about hosting our Year 5 and 6 Dance on Tuesday. I have spoken to all boys about their responsibilities for making sure the dance is an enjoyable and safe event for all participants. I encouraged the boys to leave their phones at home as they will be getting dropped off and picked up from the Champagnat Centre. No student will be permitted to leave the Champagnat Centre unaccompanied, and all students will be supervised until parents arrive to collect them. All mobile phones that are brought along will be handed in and held securely for the duration of the dance. I look forward to a great evening of fun as we welcome our visitors from invited schools to join us on this special occasion.
I hope everyone has an enjoyable extended break this week and I look forward to seeing all the boys return on Monday refreshed, and ready to put their best foot forward for a strong finish to Term 3.
