Book Week
A Magical Kickoff to Book Week!
What a spectacular start to our inaugural Whole School Book Week Parade at SMCM! On Monday, our soccer pitch transformed into a vibrant canvas of literary magic, with students donning fantastic costumes as their favourite book characters under the beaming sun. The energy was palpable as the students and staff paraded around the soccer pitch, showcasing the incredible creativity and enthusiasm of our school community.
The festivities began last week with a mesmerizing performance of ‘Maybe a Miracle’, for our F-2 students. This enchanting show set the stage for our Book Week celebrations by bringing to life the captivating tales of Every Night at Midnight, The Concrete Garden, and Timeless. The performance not only introduced these intriguing stories but also ignited a passion for reading in our students.
Eating lunch turned into a literary adventure! Each day, as students gathered to eat, a shortlisted book from the Book Week selection was read aloud over the PA system. This delightful tradition introduced our students to a rich variety of stories and characters. It was a wonderful way to keep the Book Week excitement alive and celebrate the magic of reading together.
Here’s to more literary journeys and shared stories as we continue to celebrate the joy of books every week at SMCM!
