This Week At OOPS
Last week the Preps enjoyed reading to Ginger in the library. Some of the Preps were a bit nervous that they wouldn't be able to read the words in the books but we told the to try their best and that Ginger wouldn't mind. Although Ginger loved all the books, the ones that included dogs were her favourites!
Last week our awesome Mass Dance Crew had their first dress rehearsal with over 35 participating schools. It was so exciting to receive some of our costumes for the show and seeing some of the additional songs performed too! The countdown to the show is on with just over 4 weeks to go. Make sure you get your tickets so you can see them in action!
Old Orchard Primary School will be celebrating Book Week from August 19th to 23rd 2024. Our whole school Book Week parade will be held on Tuesday the 20th with a special assembly starting at 9:15 in the gym.
Rumour has it, there will be a surprise performance from Hollywood’s BIGGEST Stars!
We look forward to seeing everyone dressing up as their favourite book character for the day and the school community celebrating a love of reading throughout the week!

Responsible Pet Ownership
On Wednesday the Preps had a blast meeting Zaria the Labrador during their Responsible Pet Ownership incursion. They sang songs and engaged in activities to help them remember lots of important skills about how to be safe around and approach other people’s dogs.
