News from 1/2

Inquiry - we are exploring the world of light and sound this term. This week we practised being foley artists, those are the people in charge of recreating sounds for movies. We used potatoes in sand for horse hooves, newspaper in plastic bags to mimic walking on wet grass, marbles in a jar were chirping crickets, and leather slapped together made the sound of wings slapping. Mathematics - learning all about how to make groups of the same amount, use skip counting to check how many, and then showing that as a multiplication equation kept us busy this week, check out our arrays!
