What's on in 5/6
Book Week
It was truly fantastic to see our Grade 5 and 6 students bring their favourite book characters to life! Embracing this year’s theme, "Reading is Magic!", they showcased their passion for reading with creativity and enthusiasm. Below are some reflections from the day that capture the excitement.
“Everyone came in fabulous outfits!” - Paige D
“It was an amazing opportunity to dress up and learn about characters, their books and personalities! I will definitely participate again next year.” - Dhruv B
The Book Fair was also a great success this year, with a fantastic selection of books and accessories that students and families loved. Thank you for making this year’s Book Week such a memorable experience!
House Athletics
House Athletics Day was filled with energy, enthusiasm, and impressive athleticism as students from all houses competed in a range of field and track events. It was wonderful to see the spirit and sportsmanship on display, with each student giving their best and cheering on their peers.
“It was lovely to see that everyone tried their best in the track and field events!” - Madi L
“It was wonderful to see everyone trying new things and loving it.” - Janice D
“People were trying their best, and I really loved the enthusiasm everyone had. It was an amazing experience and I can’t wait for next year!” - Shaaz H
A big thank you to all the parents and volunteers who helped make the day run smoothly and to everyone who supported the students. Congratulations to our 5/6 students who made our Whitehorse Primary School’s 2024 District Athletics Team.
Life Ed
Our recent Life Education program on “Making Decisions” was a valuable and engaging experience for our Grade 5/6 students. Throughout the sessions, students explored the process of decision-making, learning to weigh options, consider consequences, and make thoughtful choices. The program used interactive activities and real-life scenarios to help students understand the importance of making informed decisions and how these choices impact their lives and those around them.
