Dear Parents,
At St Francis Xavier, our teaching is grounded in research-based pedagogy, high-impact teaching strategies, and explicit instruction across all areas of the curriculum. We understand the importance of engaging students to help them build mastery and confidence in their abilities.
One of the tools we use to achieve this in Mathematics is the Mathletics program.
Mathletics is an online learning platform designed to support students of all ages and
abilities in Mathematics through interactive activities, games, and challenges. All students from K-6 at our school have access to this program, which is intended to support and challenge them to ensure that each student can work toward reaching their full potential.
To maximise the benefits of this program for our students, our teachers participated in professional development this week, led by a representative from 3P Learning. The training provided our teachers with valuable insights on how to effectively use the curriculum-aligned activities and games for core math concept practice, as well as how to use assessment materials available through the program in their Mathematics teaching.
Our students will engage with Mathletics in various ways, both at school and for homework. I encourage you to continue exploring Mathletics with your child to reinforce classroom learning, engage in their progress, and celebrate their achievements together.
Thank you for your continued support in nurturing your child's educational growth.
Kind regards,
Ms Nellie Girgenti
