Congratulations to Mason Burr (Year 10), the new Men's Club Champion. This is 15-year-old Mason's first major GGC victory, becoming one of the youngest Men's Club Champions in Club's history.
Mason Burr, Year 10
Congratulations to our Year 10 Drama and Years 7-12 Dance students who competed at YOH Fest on Wednesday.
The award I am most proud of was The Karen Lyons Award for Excellence in YOH Fest Etiquette. This was the award given to one school which demonstrated the best standard of backstage etiquette, showing courtesy to others, following the instructions given by the organisers, keeping their space clean and tidy, and showing respect and support to the other schools at the event.
Emily Beaman was awarded the regional Act Belong Commit Student Ambassador Award, which was given to just one student of all the schools competing in the Perth heats for upholding the YOH Fest ethos, due to her dedication behind the scenes and onstage, supporting younger students, and encouraging older students to support and be inclusive of those participating in the competition for the first time.
The Year 10 Drama class was awarded a Certificate of Merit for their Insightful Look at the Realities of Today’s High School Experience for their performance of “Welcome to the Jungle”.
The Year 7 – 12 Dance Company received a Certificate of Merit for a Well Executed Demonstration of a Large Variety of Dance Styles for their performance of “Dancing in Style”.
The audition based Year 7-12 Dance Company A-Team earned a Certificate of Merit for their Wonderful Interpretive Choreography for their performance of “Hold My Hand”.
