Book Week
We have an array of activities and events on display in this week’s newsletter. One of our most anticipated weeks of the year is Book Week and this year saw both Primary and Secondary students and staff get into the spirit by dressing up.
As we move closer to the opening of our Art Exhibition, other areas of The Arts have been busy. Some of our Dance and Drama students have performed exceptionally well at the recent YOH-Fest competition, while our Piano students represented the School admirably at the ASC Piano Competition.
It has also been wonderful to see our parent community engage with some key events, including the P&F Quiz Night and the ELC Fathers’ Day Afternoon Tea. A special thanks to Michele Dalton for her work in ensuring the success of the Quiz Night.
This edition also highlights the School's academic offerings, including our ongoing work with New Metrics both in and out of the classroom, excursions and incursions that enhance student learning and development, swimming lessons, and participation in activities for Gifted and Talented Week.
It has been a busy fortnight. Thank you to the staff for their work in offering these opportunities for our students.
Everyday our staff strive to support the wellbeing of our students. It is also vital that we put measures in place to support the wellbeing of our staff. In line with our commitment to the ‘right to disconnect’, teachers and support staff are not required to respond to messages outside of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. While responses outside these hours are optional, they are not expected. As always, for urgent matters, please contact the School during Reception hours. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we continue to support the wellbeing of all members of our school community.
As we come close to the end of Term 3, parents and carers are reminded of the need to inform the School in writing, by the end of the term, if your child is not retuning to John Wollaston in 2025.
Wishing all our fathers a wonderful Fathers’ Day on Sunday!
With best wishes and gratitude
