Students attended the Futures Fair/ Subject Expo displays and information in the second week of Term 3. Students in Years 8, 9 and 10 have put in subject preferences for 2025 and attended Course Counselling. Our 2025 Year 9, 10 and VCE Subject Selection Handbooks have been published to the college website. A new handbook for Year 7 and 8 has been developed, which includes the new Enrichment Program and will also be published shortly.
The Year 7 and 8 Enrichment Program was showcased to all Year 7 students by the Enrichment teaching team. Student work was displayed from Semester One and teachers spoke passionately about their subject in order to garner interest from students who will make choices for next year. This was a great event that consolidated the hard work of students and their teachers who submitted innovative subject ideas through our Curriculum Committee. The Year 8 Enrichment Program electives include Dance, Esports, Heroes and Villains, Vikings Myths and Legends, Science Models, Music, Rock and Rome and Lego Lab: Gears and Gadgets.
The Semester Two Curriculum Maps were published to families, students and staff at the start of term. The Tutoring program has recommenced for Semester Two.
The Centre for Higher Education Studies (CHES) is a new centre of excellence designed to further improve educational outcomes for high-achieving and high-ability students across Victoria. We have several high-achieving students applying for accelerated programs and VCE subjects such as English Language and Specialist Maths for next year.
Interim reports are currently being completed by teachers and will be published next week.
