Semester One Awards Ceremony

The Semester One Awards Ceremony was held on Friday 9th August.  Our Guests of Honour, Colin Brooks MP for Bundoora, and Kate Thwaites, MP for Jaga Jaga, presented the awards. Students were acknowledged for high levels of academic achievement, commitment to learning and consistent demonstration of the College values of Courage, Aspiration, Respect and Equality. This is the third year we have awarded the values badges and two students have now received all four values badges. Congratulations to Ethan Barry and Sean Beasley on this wonderful recognition.

Whilst not everyone received an award, in our school we have high expectations of all students to strive to be the best they can be in all aspects of school life and we encourage students to reflect on their own achievements and growth in their learning during semester one.  It is important for all students to set goals for themselves, in semester two, to aspire to achieve their own personal best by the end of the year.

The Awards ceremony was a great community event with many parents and family members able to join in the celebration with their children and teachers.

Congratulations to all students on their fantastic efforts during Semester 1. Award winners are listed in this newsletter.

The Enrichment Program Showcase and the Year 7 engagement in the event speaks to the innovative approach we are taking with curriculum.

The unprecedented performance of the Year 7-10 Girls Football team is testament to the strong sporting program at our school.

The strong performance by our students across all sports this term and year, attributable to a dedicated teaching team and the strength of the ADP.

The “Greensy Olympics” provided opportunities for students to engage and connect with each other and the school.

The Semester Awards was a perfect end to week 4, celebrating the achievements of over 200 students.

Year 7 Camp to Phillip Island offered new experiences and strengthened relationships

The annual Snow Camp was a great success and brought together students from all year levels.

The Year 9 City Experience excursions have been orienting students and preparing them for their City Camp.

The Greensborough Live was an outstanding event which showcased the musical and vocal talents or our students.

Thank you and congratulations to the staff for supporting our students to learn, participate, connect and grow.
