How The Echidna Got Its Spikes!
Throughout NAIDOC Week, students enthusiastically participated in a variety of Aboriginal-inspired art activities that celebrated the stories, symbols and traditions of First Nations peoples. Through painting, clay sculpture, gum leaf design and creative classroom projects, students explored the richness of Aboriginal culture while developing a deeper understanding, appreciation and respect for Australia's First Nations heritage. Kindergarten students enjoyed the Dreamtime story ‘How Ika the Echidna Got Its Spikes!’ before creating their own echidna artworks, bringing the story to life through creativity while learning about Aboriginal culture.
