Year 1 Big Write

Things took an exciting turn in the Year 1 classroom this week during their Big Write!

Students were given the imaginative prompt:

“Imagine you are at home or at school when an unexpected visitor arrives!”

To spark their imaginations, Year 1 had a surprise visitor of their very own, bringing their prompt to life right before their eyes! The classroom was buzzing with energy, enthusiasm, and creative ideas.

We are so proud of Year 1’s fantastic effort, imaginative thinking, and growing writing skills.

Student-Led Conferences

Here you can see Year 5 students practicing for their Student-Led Conferences. A lot of behind the scenes work goes on in preparation for the conferences. Your children have been working hard to get themselves ready and are very keen to present their work to you. If you haven't already, please book in now! Bookings close Sunday 2nd August.

Students who engage in self-evaluation are motivated to produce quality work. Student work samples also assume increased importance, since students must carefully select those items that have meaning and explain why they chose to share them with their parents.

If parents see the value in what the children are doing at school and teachers invite parents in as partners, then students will be compelled to increase their own commitment to future successes, strengthening them for the challenges ahead.

We believe the triangle of the student, the teacher and the parent is a strong model. Students who take ownership of their learning will begin to see direct correlation between effort and reward.
