Term 4 is flying by quickly, and ARPS students have been very busy creating in the Art Room!
Foundation students have been exploring and experimenting with different types of collage, creating delightfully vibrant beetles from hand-painted paper, 3D birds, and scaly fish.
The highly creative Year 1/2 students began the term with a drawing with thread challenge, which everyone met with enthusiasm and perseverance. They have also been experimenting with colour and construction—designing and building wonderful small-scale cardboard sculptures and creating ceramic beads to paint and turn into necklaces.
The energetic Year 3/4 students have been busily developing their technical drawing skills through a series of perspective drawing tasks, achieving fantastic results. Currently, they are studying contemporary Indigenous artworks and experimenting with using paper to create beads.
The Year 5/6 students began the term working on their portrait drawing skills, creating photo-realistic pencil portraits. They worked hard on this challenging task and achieved outstanding results. Currently, they are exploring the work of contemporary Indigenous artist Maree Clarke and, in response, are using ink and pencil to represent the usually invisible cellular structures revealed through scientific processes.
