Grade 3 and 4 Hoop Time Competition

On Friday the 24th of October the Grade 3 and 4 Basketball teams jumped on the tram and headed to Darebin Community Sports Centre for the annual District Junior Basketball Competition. 

Led by Coach Cora and Coach Kris, both teams played with extreme resilience, respect and intensity. 

Both boys and girls teams played 6 pool games against various schools within the area. These schools included Preston West, Preston North East, Reservoir West, St John’s, Holy Name, and St Raphael’s.

Both of our teams advanced to the finals with the boys finishing in 3rd place after beating St Raphael’s, in a resilient and hard fought win. The girls made it to the final unbeaten in their pool games and won the grand final convincingly beating Reservoir West 18-0. 

Amaia S was awarded the MVP award for the Grand Final which is a fantastic achievement and was thoroughly deserved.

Overall the day was a huge success and all students had a great time representing our school. They all showed great sportsmanship and respect towards each other and other teams!
