Principal's Report

What a short but productive week it has been! With our Curriculum Day on Monday, our teachers were able to dedicate valuable time to report writing and reflection on student progress as we approach the end of the school year. Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup public holiday provided a brief pause in the week, allowing everyone a chance to recharge before diving back into learning. Despite the shorter week, our students continued to shine, particularly in athletics, where we are thrilled to celebrate another two students who have progressed through to the next level of competition. Their determination and commitment are a wonderful reflection of the RGLPS spirit. As we move into the final stretch of the term, there is a real sense of pride across our school in all that has been achieved so far this year.

Remembrance Day

Next Tuesday, 11 November 2025, marks Remembrance Day – a significant day on which we pause to honour all those who have served, suffered, or died in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. It is also a time to recognise the courage and commitment of Australian Defence Force members who continue to serve our nation today.

Remembrance Day is observed each year at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, marking the moment in 1918 when World War I came to an end. Across Australia, people stop to reflect on the sacrifices made for peace and freedom, and to express gratitude for those who have given so much in service to others.

At Rosanna Golf Links Primary School, our students and staff will pause at 11 a.m. on Tuesday to observe one minute of silence. This shared act of remembrance helps our students understand the importance of respect, reflection, and community, while connecting them to an important part of our national history.

We encourage families to take a moment together on this day to talk about what remembrance means and to reflect on the enduring values of courage, resilience, and hope that define the Australian spirit.

Transitioning to 2026

Thank you to all families who have provided information to support 2026 class placements. We are now in the process of carefully considering all requests as we work to create balanced, supportive, and effective learning environments for every student. As previously communicated, we guarantee that each child will be placed with at least one nominated learning friend for 2026. While we always strive to include as many friendship preferences as possible, it is not feasible to accommodate all requests within our large cohort.

This year, we are also introducing new software to streamline the class formation process and ensure that academic, social, and wellbeing factors are all carefully considered. We appreciate families’ understanding that class placements require a range of professional considerations, and our ultimate goal remains to make decisions that best support the learning and wellbeing of every child at Rosanna Golf Links Primary School.
