WORLD TEACHERS’ DAY || Today we celebrate World Teachers’ Day, recognising and thanking our amazing teachers for the passion, care and dedication they bring to supporting, guiding and inspiring our students every day. We kicked off the morning with a staff breakfast to acknowledge and celebrate the incredible work of our teachers and ES staff — hats off to you all!
A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful Parents’ Association for the coffee vouchers and cupcakes, and to the students and parents who have shared messages of thanks. Your kindness and appreciation mean so much!

YEAR 7 GIRLS & BOYS BASKETBALL SMR FINALS || Congratulations to our Year 7 Girls and Boys Basketball teams for their fantastic effort at the SMR Finals today! Both teams showed great teamwork, spirit and determination throughout the day, representing Beaumaris Secondary College with pride.

TGO SURF CAMP || Our Year 9 & 10 Great Outdoors students are living their best lives down at Lorne! From surfing and hiking to cooking up a storm on Trangias, they’re making the most of every moment.

INNOVATE & PBL EXPO || Last night, our Year 7 – 10 students impressed us with their amazing projects, sharing their authentic journeys through inquiry and project-based learning. From engaging displays and artefacts to insightful posters, their creativity and commitment shone brightly. A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who attended and voted for the best PBL projects from each year level. Stay tuned for the announcement of the winning projects!

YEAR 7 STUDENTS INTERVIEW BRAD ROWSWELL MP || Thank you for taking the time to speak with our Year 7 students, Brad! The boys did a fantastic job interviewing, filming and directing as part of their Communicate & Relate PBL — and they’re excited to move into the editing stage.

KOKODA 2025 TRAINING || Despite the rain, cold and mud providing very challenging conditions, our 2025 Kokoda team summited Mount Donna Buang yesterday. Not even the leeches deterred them! There are now less than two weeks until they depart on what promises to be the experience of a lifetime.

MCC LACROSSE LIGHTNING CARNIVAL || It was wonderful to host the Seaside District Primary School Lacrosse Lightning Carnival on our amazing Multi-Purpose Pitch last week! A big thanks to MCC Lacrosse for organising such an inclusive and exciting event for our local primary schools — Beaumaris PS, Beaumaris North PS, Brighton PS, Brighton Beach PS, Sandringham PS and Sandringham East PS.
Congratulations to Beaumaris North PS, who won both the Girls and Boys Finals to become the 2025 Seaside District Primary School Lightning Carnival Champions!
It was fantastic to see so many students displaying great teamwork, enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the day — a true celebration of community sport!

CORE MERIT & MATHS OLYMPIAD AWARDS || Congratulations to our outstanding students who were recognised with Gold, Silver and Bronze CORE Merit Awards at today’s House Assemblies (not all pictured). At Beaumaris, we celebrate Curiosity, Optimism, Respect and Excellence — values that guide everything we do.
We also congratulated our Maths Olympiad winners, who were presented with their certificates for their exceptional problem-solving achievements. Well done to all students recognised today for their hard work and commitment!

REMEMBRANCE DAY || Our student leaders Chris B, Year 8 and Kate O, Year 9 did a wonderful job representing Beaumaris Secondary College at this morning's Beaumaris RSL Remembrance Day service. Special mention to Year 11 History student Imogen L for delivering a touching tribute to our fallen heroes. A Remembrance Day service was also held at the College to observe a minute’s silence. Lest we forget.

CONGRATULATIONS MEHAN! || Year 8 student Mehan Pienaar was one of three national winners — and achieved the highest overall score in the Junior Category of the 2025 Tax, Super + You Competition! Students were challenged to think creatively and design a project answering the question: “When it comes to tax and super, what do I need to do when I'm ready to start my first job?” Mehan’s outstanding entry earned $1,000 for himself and $1,000 for Beaumaris Secondary College — an incredible achievement, and we couldn’t be prouder of him! PAWSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY || Our Year 11 Psychology students enjoyed a special visit from a detection dog today as part of their studies on perception. Students explored top-down and bottom-up processing, as well as sustained and divided attention, and watched Radar find the secret stash of money! It was a great way to link psychological theory to real-life scenarios — and perfect practice just before exams next week.

BEAUY BIG ARVO TEA || Our second group of Year 9 students hosted a wonderful Beauy Big Arvo Tea today for staff and parents/carers, putting into practice the teamwork, communication and organisation skills they’ve developed through the Community Connections program. A fantastic effort and a great way to wrap up the program!

INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC SOIRÉE || On Tuesday night we celebrated our talented Instrumental Music Program students at another wonderful soirée. Families and staff enjoyed an evening of amazing performances, highlighting the dedication of our students and teachers alike.

CABLE PARK FUN || It was a big week at Melbourne Cable Park, with both our Year 7 and Year 9–10 students taking to the water! Our Year 7s put their Term 4 Water Safety skills into action — from sun safety to aquatic awareness and emergency management — while our Year 9 & 10 Fit for Life students enjoyed an action-packed recreation and leisure experience as part of their studies. More Year 7s will be heading there next week to complete their Water Safety unit!

HAWK END OF PROGRAM CELEBRATION || Our High Abilities Wider Knowledge (HAWK) students wrapped up their 2025 program yesterday with a fun visit to Zone Bowling — the perfect way to celebrate their many achievements!
