Principal's News

Good morning Families,

Our term is moving on very quickly! It's hard to believe that we have already organised our class lists for the new school year, our Preps are visiting for their second classroom orientation, and plans are underway for our carols. This Thursday night we also welcome our 2026 Prep families for our Prep Information Evening.

Thank You Family Disco Volunteers

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make our recent Family Disco such a wonderful success! The organising committee worked tirelessly behind the scenes and were superbly supported by our sensational DJ Shane and our MC Allison to create a night to remember for our children. Thanks to the committee and helpers who assisted the magnificent job undertaken by Susan, our disco coordinator. Thank you Rachel, Kate, Pilar, Patricia, Vic and Thomas. We appreciate you!

The rainbow theme was a hit, and it was fantastic to see so many smiling faces as families and friends came together to celebrate. We sincerely thank all the parents and staff who stepped up on the night to assist with a variety of tasks. Your generosity and teamwork made all the difference. And thanks Kendra for the beautiful photos.

The children had been eagerly anticipating the disco, and they were certainly not disappointed! It was a joyful evening filled with colour, laughter, and community spirit.

Final fundraising figures are being calculated, and we expect Lyn will be able to provide an update this week.

A Reminder About Child Safety and Communication

As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a Child Safe School and upholding our Code of Conduct, we remind parents and carers of the following important expectations:

  • Respectful communication: Talking or writing about our school in negative ways is inappropriate. This includes comments made in private or group messaging platforms such as WhatsApp. Please remember that messages shared online can be easily screenshot and circulated beyond their intended audience. We ask all members of our community to communicate respectfully and constructively at all times.

  • Photographs of children: There are strict guidelines regarding the taking and sharing of photos of children. Parents must not take photos of any child without the permission of that child’s parent or carer. Likewise, you must have explicit consent from parents before posting any photos in public or private online forums.

Thank you for your support in keeping our community safe, respectful, and aligned with our Child Safe practices.

OSHC

MACSeye has advised that the school holiday program will be held at St Mary's Primary School, Ascot Vale. This is disappointing for our community and not what we were expecting when the service commenced but this appears to be our reality. Should you wish to share your feedback to MACSeye you may make contact via https://macseye.vic.edu.au/contact/feedback/ or by calling 1300501029.

Leave

I will be taking leave and heading to the Gold Coast in the final days of this term to await the birth of my newest grandchild and to babysit his big sister, Maisie. I expect to finish the term at the conclusion of Week 9.

Enjoy the week ahead,
