PERFORMING ARTS

In week 3 our Hendy and Peacock Campuses had their campus concerts in our beautifully decked out theatre at Goldsworthy Campus. Many of our students said they were most proud that they performed on the day even though they were a bit nervous. They also identified that their confidence to perform improved over the term of rehearsals and were very happy that their families came to watch. Students said the experience overall was fun and they can’t wait for next year’s show.

Last week, the Year 9 IMPACT students celebrated Children’s Week in collaboration with the Northern Bay College Kindergarten. As part of their learning, the students explored the art of puppetry, developing skills in puppet design, creation, and performance. They chose to adapt and perform the beloved story The Very Hungry Caterpillar for the kindergarten students. Following their performance, the Year 9 students led an engaging workshop with the kinder children, working together to design and create a life-size puppet. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to share their creativity, leadership, and collaboration while celebrating the joy of learning through play.

Our SEED Track Club travelled to Melbourne on Saturday to compete at the Victorian Athletics League Essendon Gift. Once again, our students were outstanding—representing Northern Bay College with pride, sportsmanship, and class.

A big thank you to our wonderful supporters Steigen Socks and KFC, and a special shout-out to Mr Diamond, our amazing bus driver, for getting the team there and back safely!
