I’d like to begin by congratulating you all the incredible Class of 2025. What a phenomenal achievement it is to have officially finished your schooling years. You’ve all worked so hard and now, you’re about to embark on the dreams you’ve held onto for so long. As they say, the world is your oyster.

As your College Captain, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the best moments that make our school feel like home. From our unforgettable Harmony Days filled with a sense of belonging, connection and celebrations to school camps and excursions where members were made to the memories we’ve created with each other and our teachers that helped us along the way including Phil Wrochna for some reason.

I could stand here all afternoon talking about those memories, but instead, I’ll leave you with this; when you get a quiet moment, think about what’s stuck with you like the deep conversations with Mr Harvey, also think about what you’ll carry with you forever from Northern Bay, and what you’ll leave behind such as the funny memories that you will cherish forever.

To our hard working teachers, I would like to thank you on behalf of everyone. Thank you for your wisdom, your patience, and for pretending not to notice when we were totally not zoning out of class. Your effort, time, and belief in us have meant more than you know. Yes, even you, Mr Harvey and Jessie Melnik.

It has been a true honour and privilege to serve as your 2025 College Captain. I’m beyond proud of everything we’ve achieved together. This is Ali Agha Wali Zada, your captain signing off, but I’ll always be cheering you on from the sidelines.

My name is Farzana Mohammad Aref, your school captain of 2025. I have joined this school a little later than many, just last year. And walking into a well-established year group during Year 11 was like joining a class halfway through the semester where everyone already knew the lessons, the inside jokes, and even the backstory from year 8 that happened in Hendy and Wexford that I’ll probably never fully understand. But even from the outside looking in, at first, it was clear that this year group was different. This was a group of people who had been together through it all, the stressful assignments, the confusing teenage years, and navigating the chaos of work requirements that somehow always piles up at once

I saw how they lifted each other up, how they made each other laugh, and how, despite the stress, the pressure, and surviving off energy drinks, they found ways to support one another,

There's something special in watching a year group grow together, not just in age but also in character. It’s in the small moments and the shared jokes, and even the frustrating days we once thought would never end. You made each other feel seen…you made each other feel like they belonged.  And these are the lessons and memories we will carry with us throughout our lives, the reminders of how kindness, and support, and connection can make even the hardest moments meaningful. I hope that as we move forward, each of you continue to feel that sense of belonging, wherever life takes you, and that you always find a place where you are valued, supported, and at home.

And to our teachers, thank you. Thank you for your patience, your guidance, and for believing in us, you have been more than educators,  you’ve been a constant source of encouragement and role models, and we are so grateful for the time, the effort, and care you’ve invested in us,  and we will carry the lessons you’ve taught us long after we leave these school gates.

So to the class of 2025, to the memories you’ve made, the friendships you’ve built and the people you’ve become.

You were good. You were really good. And I’ll say it, one last time.

Oh captain my captain you will be missed.

Congratulations to Our Year 12 Students

As our Year 12 students finish their final classes and prepare to sit their exams, we would like to take a moment to acknowledge this significant milestone. Completing Year 12 is an incredible achievement — one that reflects years of dedication, perseverance, and growth. The coming weeks of final exams are the final hurdle concluding the hard work and commitment over the year. We are immensely proud of all that they have accomplished and of the maturity and determination they have shown throughout the year. As they move into this final chapter of their school journey, we wish them the very best of luck in your exams and in the exciting opportunities that await beyond them.

At Goldsworthy we had a very successful celebration day to finalise the end of formal classes in 2025.
