Rudy Vail

Dear Parents & Carers,

Camp

This week I had the absolute pleasure of joining our Year 5 and 6 students on camp at The Briars in the stunning Mornington Peninsula and what an experience it was! From the moment we arrived, the excitement was contagious, and it was heartwarming to see the students thrive in a completely different environment.

Throughout the camp, our students eagerly embraced a wide range of exciting activities. They soared through the air on the Flying Fox, pushed their boundaries on the Giant Swing, and built teamwork and confidence with the Crate Stack challenge. Archery tested their focus and precision, while hut building allowed them to tap into their creativity and resourcefulness. The thrill of canoeing on the water was a standout moment for many, while the GaGa Pit and Volleyball Court provided a platform for friendly yet fierce competition, where sportsmanship and enthusiasm were on full display.

What stood out the most was seeing the students support one another, step out of their comfort zones, and grow both individually and as a group. The joy on their faces was priceless as they tried new activities, formed stronger friendships, and embraced the challenges of camp life.

I would like to extend a huge thank you to the dedicated staff members who gave up their time and were away from their families to make this camp possible: Anne Askew, Maree Rofe, Lindy Chaplin-Holmes, Trudy Hammond and Emma Marazzato. Their  commitment ensured that our students had an unforgettable experience, and we are truly grateful for their efforts.

The camp experience has left our students with wonderful memories and lessons that will last a lifetime. What a privilege it was to share in their joy and adventure!

Bunning BBQ

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing PFOL for organising last Saturday's Bunnings BBQ, and to everyone who generously volunteered their time to ensure the event’s success. Your hard work, dedication, and community spirit truly shone through, and I’m excited to announce that we raised an outstanding $2,462.65! These funds will go a long way in supporting our school.

A special shout-out to those who assisted with cooking and serving on the day - your support was crucial in making this possible. Once again, thank you to everyone involved for your incredible effort. Your commitment to our OLHC community is deeply appreciated, and we couldn’t have achieved this without you!

MACSSIS Survey

A gentle reminder to please take a few moments to complete the MACSSIS Survey. This is an important opportunity for our school community to provide feedback on the learning and wellbeing of our students, the overall culture, and the quality of teaching at OLHC. Your input is invaluable in shaping the future of our school and ensuring we continue to grow as a supportive and thriving educational environment.

Warm regards,
