This week has seen a real change in weather, with the rain ceasing and the sun being visible for the first time in many weeks. It is so nice to feel the warmth of the sun and everything feels and looks so much better.

Year 12 Leavers Talk

Once again, it has been a very busy week.  Tuesday evening, we had Mr Neale Horsley speak with our Year 12 students about 'Leavers' and how to protect themselves and their friends. What to expect whilst there, what not to take and just lots of advice from a former policeman who has seen it all.

It was disappointing to hear feedback indicating that some of our students were less than respectful, interrupting, and not engaging. Neale spent his final few years in the force as a School Liaison Officer and spoke on this subject to many students, so hearing this was disheartening.

Year 12 Departure

This week, we have been reminding the Year 12 students who are planning on departing next Friday about the process that needs to be followed to speed up the exiting process from boarding.

All Boarding students must hand in their padlock, key, boot box, and allocated laundry tub when exiting the College. Their room needs to be empty and left in the manner that the cleaners require.

A booking system will be available for all eligible students starting from Monday. Students sign up for an exit time, during which their room will be inspected. They then sign back in their padlock and key at the office before departing the College immediately afterwards. This process has proved very efficient in the past and staggers the departures over the day, which is deemed far safer by the College.

Quiz Night

Tonight is the annual quiz night. We have had huge support from all staff across most areas volunteering to attend and join in with the students for the evening.

A night like this doesn’t just happen and I would like to thank some of the real prime movers for making it such a great evening. Firstly, Mr John White, who has put together the questions for the night, Mr Chris Curran, who will be the MC and Heidi Armstrong, who has put together the prizes and lollies for the evening.

The wonderful catering crew will again work with us to have dinner early in preparation and then supply a great supper for all to enjoy.
