Futures Expo & Course Counselling

Futures Expo and Course Counselling: A Recap

Future Year 10 and 11 Students and Parents/Guardians,

We hope you enjoyed our recent Futures Expo, held on 8th of August. This event aimed to inspire and inform you about various subject options and career pathways at THS. Our expert teachers from Thornbury High School showcased their subjects, sharing valuable insights and expertise. It was amazing to see the Library and Auditorium at capacity with all the students invested in making important decisions about their futures.

Subject Selection Process: What's Next?

Following the Futures Expo, our Year 10 and 11 students have now completed the subject selection process for the upcoming year. We appreciate the time and effort invested in choosing subjects that align with your interests, strengths, and future aspirations.

Key Outcomes:

- Students attended information sessions led by our experienced teachers in the library.

- One-on-one meetings with subject teachers, heads of department and coordinators helped students make informed choices.

- Students received guidance on balancing academic rigour with personal enjoyment and exploring tertiary prerequisites.

Important Reminders:

- Confirmed subject timetables will be available in the middle of Term 4.

- Changes to subject selections can only be made in exceptional circumstances, with approval from school administrators and coordinators/heads of year.

- Students are encouraged to review their subject choices and seek support from teachers or careers advisors if needed.
