Snow Camp
On the first day, we travelled on the bus to Mount Buller, filled with excitement and anticipation.
Once we arrived, we took a shuttle up the mountain. We were a little shocked to see there was not as much snow as expected. We settled into our cozy lodge and collected our ski and snowboard gear from the rental shop in town, ready to hit the slopes.
The next few days followed a similar routine: we woke up early, bundled up in our gear, and hit the slopes for hours of skiing and snowboarding until nearly the last lift. However, since it was the final week of the ski season, the snow conditions weren't ideal, with patches of grass and ice peeking through in some areas.
On Thursday the snow was especially sparse, we didn’t let it dampen our spirits. Instead, we headed to the trampoline park, where we spent a couple of hours bouncing and attempting flips, laughing at each other’s acrobatic attempts. We also tried our hand at rock climbing, however quickly discovered that scaling the wall was a bit more challenging than it looked.
When skiing conditions weren’t great, we had the chance to explore the ski town. We took leisurely walks, soaking in the stunning views of the mountains and throwing snowballs at each other.
On the last day, we skied until lunchtime, savouring every last run now we were a little more skilled. After returning our gear, we boarded the bus for the journey home. Even though the snow was less than perfect, we still loved it!
