Our school’s vibrant Italian immersion and VCE programs are featured in the latest issue of Il Globo’s ‘in classe’ liftout for education.
Journalist Barbara Manzini visited our school and witnessed our CLIL methodology in action as well as interviewing teachers, students, and our Italian guests who were here on exchange at the time to find out more about what we do here at Thornbury High School.

Italian Excursion
On the 5th of September, the Year 11 and 12 Italian classes went on an excursion to the restaurant AriPizza e Pinsa, and Marcelin College.
We started the day by driving to AriPizza e Pinsa, where we sang all of our favourite Italian songs on the bus. Then we went we made authentic Italian Pinsa at AriPizza e Pinsa, and practiced our Italian conversation with each other. Finally, we went to Marcelin, where the year 12s practiced for their oral exam, and the year 11s performed an Italian roleplay.
It was a great experience that helped us improve our Italian and connect with our local Italian community!

E’ stata una giornata irripetibile! The excursion was amazing! I really loved how it started with the pinsa course, which was really fun and extremely tasty. The highlight of the trip had to be the bus rides though when we sang all together, the Italian tunes were great vibes!
