Principal's Report

Carly Avery

Dear Parents and Friends,

What a great start to term four we have had. It was with much excitement that we have begun the term in our new learning spaces. Staff and students have settled in quickly and it has been wonderful to have many of you visit. Please pop in if you would like to have a look through.

A reminder that this Monday we will be having our Parish Friends morning tea at 11:30pm. This will also include a tour of the renovations.

I look forward to seeing many of you at the Beechworth Bakery 40 Years Street Stall and Trivia Night this coming Saturday.

Learning Expos/ Athletics Day

This term we will be having two Learning Expos and our school Athletics Day. These are great opportunities for students to share their learning with an audience. Save the date:

  • Wednesday 30th October 2:15-3:15pm: STEAM Learning Expo
    • Classes will showcase a STEAM project they have been working on
  • Thursday 7th November: School Athletics Day
    • Mayday Hills Oval
    • 10:00am start
  • Monday 11th November 1:00-3:00pm: Performing Arts Learning Expo
    • Groups will perform a short script they have been working on writing
    • Times to be confirmed, will be around this time of the afternoon, potentially shorter. Each group will have their showcase time shared closer to the date.

Administration Area

Over the school holidays all materials were removed from the roof and the administration area cleaned. We will be having a small amount of painting done in the administration area shortly. Once this has been completed, we will move back into our office area.

Please note that second hand uniforms are available, please contact the office if you require any uniforms.

Sandhurst 150 Years Celebration

This year Sandhurst has been celebrating 150 years as a Diocese. As the second oldest parish in the diocese there will be masses to celebrate this milestone. We welcome all to join us in one or all of these events.

  • Wednesday 20th November 9:00am: St. Joseph’s School Mass
  • Thursday 21st November 6:00pm: St. Joseph’s Parish Mass
  • Saturday 23rd November 5:00pm: St. Matthew’s Parish Mass (Meal to follow.)
  • Sunday 24th November 11:00am: St. Joseph’s Parish Mass- Bishop Shane concelebrating (Picnic lunch to follow.)

Warm regards, Carly Avery.
