The Faculty of Science and Engineering at Macquarie University is hosting a special talk and poster showcase on Thursday 17 October aimed at high school students and their families, especially those with an interest in statistics, mathematics and computer science.
The evening will commence at 5:00 pm with the poster showcase and the special talk from 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm.
The poster showcase is a presentation demonstrating the exciting work that students and staff in the faculty are doing in statistics,
The talk will be given by the winner of the 2024 Moyal Medal, a prestigious award given annually to an Australian scientist who makes distinguished research contributions in mathematics, physics or statistics.

Barron wins the 2024 Edmund Rice Reading Challenge
Barron’s Year 10 Class Captains, Gordon, Isaac and Sam proudly accepted the win in this year's Edmund Rice Reading Challenge at the Year 10 assembly with 419 points. Not only does the Challenge contribute to the College’s House System, but there are individual prizes on offer for top readers.
This year’s Champion Readers were:
