Class of 2024

Congratulations to the 2024 Year 12 students who will be graduating this week.

Year 12, you have contributed significantly to St Joseph's. It has been a privilege to watch your growth over the past six years.

You have experienced with staff great highs and shared some disappointments; we have shared sadness, and we have shared great joys, and special moments together during the journey of secondary education.

We acknowledge and respect a special group of highly accomplished, confident and very beautiful people, who will live long in our thoughts, and our hearts.

You are a very special Year 12 class which has journeyed through six years of St Joseph's in a most memorable way, especially seen in your deep commitment to St Joseph's and the exceptional way you have led the school.

The class of 2024 will remain an indelible part of the St Joseph's DNA.

Thank you Year 12 for:

  • Your wonderful school spirit and commitment to St Joseph's.
  • Your ownership of St Joseph's and pride shown.
  • Your positive culture that you bring each day.
  • The role-modelling and sense of responsibility you have shown as leaders of St Joseph's.
  • Your committed leadership and strength of character.
  • Your camaraderie, the fun and the laughter.
  • Your keen sense of social justice and desire to address the needs of others.
  • The substantial investment you have made, wearing the St Joseph's jersey - you are indeed a very special Year 12 cohort.

We acknowledge:

  • Your courage, in the face of peer and societal influences.
  • Your collaborative and supportive response.
  • Your achievements in the classroom, the sports field, the wider community, the stage, the music room.
  • The students who relished the opportunities, those who tried so hard to accomplish their goals and those who embraced the challenge of each day.
  • The influence of those who approached each day with joy and enthusiasm and cared for each other.
  • Those who grew and those who made a difference to the lives of others.
  • Particularly those who smiled!

God bless, farewell and good luck! Remember to always have a care for justice and act with integrity.

And finally, in the words of John H Schaar, scholar and political theorist:

The future is not some place we are going, but one we are creating.

The paths are not to be found, but made. And the activity of

making them changes both the maker and the destination.
