School zone road safety

School is back! Drop-off and pick-up times can be stressful, but always choose safety over convenience.
ALWAYS
- Remember the 40km/h speed limit.
- Park safely and legally, even if it means walking further to school.
- Watch for pedestrians on or near crossings
- Be patient and drive with care.
NEVER
- Call your children across the road. Go to them and help them cross.
- Double park, stop on a footpath, or stop on a crossing.
- Do a U-turn or three-point turn in school zones.
- Speed in a school zone. You never know when a pedestrian may step outsuddenly.
REMEMBER
- The No Parking zone is there for everyone to utilise. Don’t overstay the limitof two minutes and if it is full when you arrive, don’t queue. Drive aroundthe block if you need to, until a space is available.Try arriving after bell time to avoid waiting and risking a fine
