Dear families
Welcome to the 2026 school year! We hope you had a fun and relaxing holiday with your family and friends. We are happy to see our students back and ready to learn. A special welcome to the new families joining Meadowbank Public School this year.
At the start of the term, all Year 1 to Year 6 students will stay in their old classes until we finish organising enrolments. During this time, students will do revision, review school rules and expectations, and get ready for a successful school year. Thank you for being patient while we make sure every student is placed in the best class. This helps avoid any changes or interruptions later on.
Please check our school newsletter and calendar often for important updates about Term 1 events. One of these events is ‘Meet the Teacher,’ where you can meet your child’s teachers and talk about how we can all work together to help your child learn.
We want to create a warm and exciting place for your children to learn, and your help is very important. Thank you for your support as we look forward to a great year.
We are excited to welcome our new Kindergarten students who started school yesterday. This is a special time for learning, making friends, and growing. Just think—the Kindergarten class starting this year will finish Year 6 in 2032 and Year 12 in 2038!
School Development Days help our teachers and staff learn new skills and get ready for the year. This year, there were four days instead of two.
Our staff took important training, including updates on CPR and emergency care like anaphylaxis. Two of the days were for teachers to plan lessons, check assessments, and prepare their classrooms. These days were busy but helped our staff get ready for the exciting year ahead.
We are pleased to advise that our school is transitioning to School Bytes for finance, attendance, school calendar and school communication. This means that we no longer use Sentral.
What is the School Bytes Parent Portal?
The Parent Portal provides a convenient and flexible way to manage school attendance, payments and permission notes, and access the school calendar.

If at any time you have any questions, or require assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our school office. Our staff are more than happy to assist you so that you do not miss important information and get the most benefit from this new application.
We want to see all students in full school and sports uniform. This includes socks/leggings, jumpers, hats and shoes. Wearing the school uniform is important because it helps create a sense of belonging and pride in our school community. It also makes getting ready for school easier and promotes equality among students. If you need to buy or replace uniform items, our uniform shop is open and ready to assist you with all your needs.
