Student Celebrations

Ryde PSSA Zone Swimming Carnival
Our school is proud to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding efforts and achievements of our students at this year’s recent Zone Swimming Carnival, held at Ryde Aquatic Centre on 10 March 2026. The Carnival brought together primary schools from across our local area for a day of friendly competition and athletic excellence.
Throughout the day our swimmers gave their best and consistently showed determination, school spirit and teamwork. Notably, three of our students - Leah W, Isabella V and Hazel Y - demonstrated exceptional commitment by each competing in five or more individual races across the day. Leah W topped the list by competing in six individual races and one relay team. Their willingness to challenge themselves across multiple events is a testament to their stamina, preparation and passion for swimming.
Hazel Y’s outstanding performance was a highlight of the day. In the Girls 11-year age group 50m Breaststroke, Hazel gave a remarkable performance, finishing in second place after a closely contested race. As a result, Hazel will represent Ryde Zone at the upcoming Sydney North Regional Carnival.
Isabella V impressed both teammates and spectators with her versatility and determination. Isabella competed in the Girls 8-10 year age group, securing third place in two challenging races — the 200m Individual Medley and the 50m Breaststroke. Achieving a podium finish in two events is a significant accomplishment.
Our Girls 11-13 year age group 200m Freestyle Relay team worked together seamlessly, showing great coordination and encouragement for each other as they powered through their event and finished in a commendable fourth place. Their collective effort exemplified what we value about sports at our school - working together, striving for improvement and celebrating success together.
Essential support on the day was provided by our dedicated parent helper, Ms Eun Kyoung Kim (Hazel’s Mum). Ms Kim played a crucial role in the day’s organisation, coordinating our competitors and ensuring everyone was in the right place at the right time. Her extraordinary efforts behind the scenes enabled our students to focus on their races and contributed greatly to our smooth and successful carnival experience. We sincerely appreciate her generosity, time and leadership. Thank you!
Apart from individual and team achievements, all our students demonstrated impressive sportsmanship, some setting personal bests and actively supporting their peers with enthusiasm and encouragement. The collective support of staff, families and friends fostered a cheerful and motivating environment, making the carnival a memorable occasion for all involved.
Congratulations to every swimmer and supporter for contributing to an enjoyable day.

Congratulations Gemma!
We are very proud of Gemma from Year 6. She recently performed in Pulse Alive with the DoE Arts Unit Drama Ensemble.
Pulse Alive is a vibrant celebration of creativity, connection, and opportunity in the performing arts, showcasing thousands of singers, dancers, actors, and musicians from NSW public schools. Bringing together students from metropolitan, regional, rural, and remote communities, this exciting arena event celebrates diversity, fosters inclusion, and builds a strong sense of belonging.
Gemma performed over three nights—a big achievement! It was exciting to see so many students perform, and Gemma represented our school beautifully.
Well done, Gemma! This is a fantastic accomplishment.
