🎭✨ La Música Viajera – Our School Production Begins! ✨🎭
Dear families,
We are delighted to begin sharing the journey of this year’s school production, La Música Viajera (The Travelling Music!) — a dynamic and engaging exploration of the history of music and the cultural influences that have shaped it over time. 🌍🎶
This production will take our students on a journey through different eras, styles and traditions, celebrating how music has travelled, evolved and connected people across the world.
We are so lucky to have such talented staff that we can showcase instrumentals, singing, dance, and acting.
🌟 A Fantastic Start – Auditions Complete!
We have officially completed our first round of auditions, and what an incredible experience it was!
After weeks of preparation, guidance and practice, our students took part in a Friday audition extravaganza — complete with panels, score sheets and plenty of excitement.
We were truly blown away by:
- ⭐ The confidence shown by our students
- ⭐ The effort and preparation they brought
- ⭐ The exceptionally high standard across all auditions
It was genuinely difficult to make decisions, and we are so proud of every single student who put themselves forward.
🎬 Our Cast So Far
We are excited to share that an initial cast has now been formed, and it is shaping up to be something truly special.
While all main performance roles have now been allocated, there are still important supporting roles within the production, including:
- 🎭 Backstage and side-stage support
- 🎬 Production helpers and runners
- 🌟 Additional organisational and ensemble support roles
🎭 Prep on stage support
These roles are essential in bringing the production together, and we look forward to involving students in these meaningful ways.
🎟️ Organisation of Classes & Performances
To support both the structure of the production and our families, performances will be organised into four group shows (over 2 separate days, with the option of a night and matinee performances):
- A–C–E classes together
- B–D–F classes together
This structure allows us to thoughtfully plan performances while also supporting families, particularly those with multiple children across different classes.
As part of this process:
- Some Grade 5/6 students who have been cast may be placed in their mirror class (rather than their homeroom) for rehearsals and performances
- This has been done to help align siblings and reduce the need for families to attend multiple evenings, where possible
In some cases:
- Younger students may also be adjusted to support family arrangements
- If any changes are required that impact your child, we will contact you directly to discuss this
Our aim is to create a structure that is:✔️ Supportive of families✔️ Fair and inclusive for students✔️ Well-organised for a high-quality production
Families will be informed of their allocated performance evening closer to the event, and this will occur before tickets are released.
🎶 Rehearsals – What’s Next?
Rehearsals will begin in Term 2, with a structured and exciting lead-up to the performance.
Students will collaborate across classes and roles, supported by staff with a range of expertise in music, performance and staging.
✨ This is a wonderful opportunity for students to develop confidence, teamwork and an appreciation of music’s rich history.

🎭 Performance Week: Term 3, Week 6
Please note that, to cater for all of our families, this year we will be holding both a matinee and an evening performance on Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th August. Just a reminder that your child will only be required to attend one night, depending on which class they are in.
We would greatly appreciate your support in ensuring your child has a calm and restful weekend before concert week, so they can conserve their energy for the performances.
