Looking Back on Term 1 and Looking Forward to Easter

As we come to the end of Term 1, it is a wonderful opportunity to pause and reflect on all that has been achieved across our school community. It has been a busy and positive start to the year, filled with learning, growth, celebration and moments of connection.

We began the year together in faith at our Beginning of Year School Mass, gathering as a community to pray and make our school commitments for the year ahead.  We have also marked important moments in the Church’s calendar, including Shrove Tuesday, where we shared the tradition of eating pancakes, and Ash Wednesday, where we began our Lenten journey of prayer, reflection and renewal. We also celebrated Harmony Day, recognising the richness of cultures, stories and backgrounds that make up our Sacred Heart community, and the importance of belonging for all.

As we move towards the holidays, we enter the most important time in the Catholic Church’s year, Easter.

Easter is at the heart of the Catholic faith. It is a story of hope, new beginnings and transformation. It reminds us that even in challenging times, new life can emerge, and love has the power to renew and restore. Easter invites us to be people of hope, showing kindness, forgiveness and compassion in the way we live each day.

Throughout Lent, our school has been preparing for Easter through prayer, reflection and acts of kindness. As part of this, we continue to support Project Compassion. We encourage families, if you are able, to give what you can to this important campaign, supporting communities around the world experiencing poverty, inequality and injustice.

Wishing all of our families a safe and restful break and a joyful Easter.
