Student Leader's Report

As we move through another busy and exciting term, it has been wonderful to see our school community come together in so many different ways.

Recently, we held a successful fundraiser in support of the Royal Children's Hospital. Students enthusiastically purchased raffle tickets for the chance to win an Easter basket filled with chocolate, and we are proud to share that the initiative raised valuable funds for such an important cause. A big thank you goes to everyone who contributed, whether by donating, organising, or participating.

Our sports academies has also been thriving, particularly on the basketball court. Practice games against schools like Templestowe have been a great opportunity for students to develop their skills, build teamwork, and prepare for upcoming competitions. In addition, the 3v3 basketball tournaments that both intermediate and senior students have participated in have been a highlight, bringing energy, friendly competition, and strong school spirit as students cheered each other on.

Another exciting initiative currently underway is the creation of a school mascot. Students have been invited to take part in a competition to design a mascot that represents our school’s identity and values. We have already seen some incredibly creative entries, and we look forward to seeing how this project continues to bring our community together.

We are also excited to announce that we have begun forming a school soccer team. This is a great opportunity for students to get involved in sport, build connections, and represent the school, and we are still welcoming new players who are interested in joining.

Students have also been engaging in a variety of enriching excursions. Some of our Year 9 and 10 international students recently attended museum visits, gaining valuable cultural and educational experiences outside the classroom. In addition, the school captains had the opportunity to attend a leadership conference, where we were able to develop our skills, share ideas, and represent our school alongside other student leaders.

Finally, a group of our arts students had the incredible opportunity to attend the Grand Prix on a recent excursion. This experience allowed them to explore the intersection of art, design, and large-scale events, providing inspiration and insight that they can bring back into their own creative work.

We look forward to next term for more opportunities.
