Let Gratitude be our Attitude...

Why Teach Kids About Practicing Gratitude?

One of our school values is Gratitude. When we practice gratitude it can cultivate feelings of joy and positivity.

Focusing on what we appreciate is also a healthy coping skill for when times feel overwhelming and get tough.  Children who practice gratitude tend to be  more optimistic, happier, and have better social support.

How does gratitude relate to resilience?

By helping you to see the positive in your life and improving positive recall, gratitude can help you to become more resilient in tough times. A key part of gratitude is encouraging individuals to recall the positive parts of life rather than focusing on the negative ones.

The practice of gratitude is both calming and grounding.  Reminding ourselves about what is good in our life can be a helpful strength and resilience-building practice.
