A RED CARPET AFFAIR: Year 11 Charity Social
By Daniel Dema ( Year 11 & 12 Co-ordinator)
We are thrilled to share the success of our recent Year 11 Charity Social Event, held at our restaurant on Friday, 1st August. The evening brought students together for a great cause, with all donations going to Compelled By Love, a charity that provides practical help to those in need. It was a fantastic opportunity to have fun while making a real difference.
The night kicked off at 6:30pm with a prayer from Mr. Campbell, and from there it was a lively mix of activities including karaoke, Just Dance, and musical chairs. Our talented student bands, supported by Mrs Denny, Mr Grace, and Mr Booth, provided fantastic live music throughout the night. We also enjoyed the delicious food prepared with care (thanks again, Mr Booth!).
The restaurant was decorated beautifully in a red carpet theme, adding a touch of glamour to the evening. Merrick did a brilliant job as MC, guiding us through the night with promptness and humour.
A heartfelt devotion was shared by Amelia, and speeches by Evie and Anna reminded us of the importance of generosity and community.
We are so grateful to the staff who gave their time and energy to help on the night: Mrs Farrand, Mrs McDowell, Mrs Rajulu, Mrs Robertson, Mr Grace, Mr Booth, Mrs Armstrong, Mrs Wylie, Miss Scheepers, Mrs Niewand, Mrs Daniell, Mrs Denny, and Mr Campbell.
A special thank you also to our Admin team who helped coordinate the many behind-the-scenes details leading up to the event.
Last but definitely not least, a massive thank you and congratulations to the student organising team—Maddie L, Evie B, Amelia A, Anna N, Jen K, Kaia S, Amalia S, and Merrick T—for their leadership, creativity and teamwork in bringing it all together.
It was a night to remember!
